When consumers focus on only one thing "price" they allow everything else to fall apart!
VOLUME:Look at the size of food packages. They are all getting smaller, but the price is remaining the same! Soon we will pay the same price for a product and get just the package!
QUALITY: Look at furniture and appliances, we purchase mass-produced inexpensive furniture or appliances for our houses, but they are made to last only a few years at best. Then we have to purchase new to replace the old worn out things. Things go out of production and are not supported by service departments past 10 years! I think that is called planed obsolescences. If you try to get parts for an appliance that is 15 years old good luck. Toys are the same, not made to last any where but the dump and then the plastic toys last forever.
When are we going to wake up and start demanding value for our dollar. Sure we need to look at cost but it has more sides than just $.
At least that is what I think

Gluttony
Hast thou found honey? eat so much as is sufficient for thee, lest thou be filled therewith, and vomit it. Proverbs 25:16
Gluttony! Too much of a good thing. How many of us have been down that road?
That saying also applies to gifts. Giving someone that is in need money to fill their need shows compassion on your part but isn't necessarily their true need.
A wise person once said "Give a man food and he will feed his family today, teach him how to fish and he will feed his family forever."
This still applies today. The American people don't need handouts in the form of money, although we will take them, that isn't the solution!
WE NEED JOBS! That is the long term solution to our problem. We need manufacturers to expand, build new plants, hire new people, make new products, here in the USA! We need to attract and encourage new manufacturing company's into America.
Give them money and they will provide the jobs we need to feed our family's and get the American dream moving again!
Give us the money and we will spend it, but it will not have the impact on the economy needed to get it moving.
Where did all the jobs go? Over sea's! Why? Money! A person starts a company to make money. He hires employees, even when that act cost them money, to help them make more money!
When the country in which the business is located in doesn't protect that company's profit margin and allows imports to come into the country and sell for a cheaper price than they can produce the product, or increases the tax on their production so much it becomes financially imposable to make a profit. That company has two choices. go bankrupt , or leave the country and relocate somewhere else where they can make a profit. After all they are in business to make money. The by product of that is jobs for the area the company is located in.
If the USA would reduce tax on company's, increase tariffs on the competing imports, jobs and companys would increase!
Why is it that even after the lead paint scare, it is very difficult to find a child's toy NOT made in China? Can't we make toys in the USA? Of course we can and we can make better, and safer ones than we import! But we can't make a profit due to cost differences. The Government refuses to protect our jobs with a tariff, and we, the people of the USA, don't want to pay a little more for products made in the USA. So our jobs move out and we find ourselves in the mess we are in. If you don't believe me look at where anything is made that we eat, or use or live with. We import lumber from Sweden! The vast majority of things are imported! Ask yourselves why don't we have jobs?
Gluttony, too much of a good thing, cheap, inexpensive products for a throw away society, leads to destruction and failure of that same society.
At least that is what I think

FAVORS!
He that is surety for a stranger shall smart for it: and he that hateth suretiship is sure. Proverbs 11:15
It looks like true to the American way, we Americans are being swayed by the rich again. It looks like we will get the biggest spender in in the White house. During thees financially troubled times is that a realistic approach to filling the office of the President of the United States? Should the person whose organization has raised and spent the most money win? Does that qualify them for the White House? Or does that mean they have the most to pay back!! How many strings are attached to this puppet we are sending to the White House?
How many people are swayed by the constant stream of poles taken showing this one is out in front by 6 points and now this one is out by 8 points! The only time poles mean anything is when you are at the polling place voting for your candidate!
Another way of stating what the verse says is "nether a lender nor a bowered be". Don't owe money or favors to another or lend them money or favors. If you do you are setting yourself up for failure!
You will not be able to do what is right, do to the influence of the person or persons to whom you owe money or favors. Or your thoughts or ideas will have undo influence on another.
Come to think of it that could be the underlying reason for loaning or giving someone money or things!
At least that is what I think

thoughts from JIm Cash B/G, USAF & Jerry Molen
'The mark of a profound person is the ability to foresee consequences before one acts'
General Cash Wrote:
Occasionally, I receive an email that I agree with so totally I want to pass to everyone on my list. This is one of those emails. I have approval from the writer to forward the attached, and feel free to post it on your websites, or forward to friends. The election of Obama as President of the United States will mark the apex, and beginning downslide of this Republic. The only question is the rate at which the downfall will occur.
The writer of this essay is Jerry Molen. Jerry is a great friend and an Academy Award winning Hollywood Producer. He did Jurassic Park , Hook, Rainman, and many more class movies. He won he Academy Award for Schindler's List. Jerry is one of the very few clear thinking conservatives that I know from Hollywood . We need to get this out to as many as possible to include liberal Democrats.. We are about to make the Mother-of-All-Mistakes, because the Republican Party gave us no reliable alternative. In my opinion, if the conservative movement does not rally behind the only alternative left to us, this country will become a true Socialist State within the next two Presidential terms. Ladies and Gentlemen, this is the most grave situation this nation has faced in my lifetime.

'Election woes defined by prose.....'
We just experienced an overhyped, positively outrageous primary election season that has left me cold and wondering where the heads of our citizens are hiding out. Must be someplace where the sun doesn't get to very often.
At one time in my life I was a determined, dedicated and ever loyal registered Democrat. Then something happened (Lyndon Baines Johnson) that turned my life around and gave me much pause as to the veracity of a party that dwelt on and fed off of the most unfortunate among us. Some of those unfortunates were in their positions in life by way of their own choosing and others were there by circumstance But always, always with a door open to them to reach for new heights, achieve new goals, change their lives for the better. And also, always ever present were the bottom feeders doing everything they could to take advantage of those who had not or have not seen the light of better days and times nor realizing they were in fact the masters of their own destiny. They had come to believe that they were dependent on those in power in Washington and that they would look out for them and take care of their every need. They are still waiting and expecting all those promised freebies.
Most people aren't even aware that the Democrats ruled Washington for over 40 years. It wasn't until 1994 when the so called Gingrich Revolution changed that for a short period of time. Nor do people realize that it was the Dem's that created the failed policies of the many entitlement programs that are falling apart right before our eyes. Please do not think I find the Republicans blameless in all this. They too, suffer from ego inflation and greed motivators built into the system. It's just that the past few months I've listened to the rantings and railings of the left in America calling for more giveaways and better ways to obtain the proverbial 'free lunch'.
I think that to sum up my feelings and why I am so set apart from those within the circles of political power and influence can be illustrated best by a quote by noted basketball legend and talk show co-host Charles Barkley:
'Poor people have been voting for Democrats for the last fifty years...and they are still poor'.
And now with the election results comes the promises of 'change'. 'Change we can believe in.' 'Change for the future'. When in fact if you really, I mean REALLY listen to what the new MESSIAH is asking for is not 'change of policy' or 'change for the better'. He is warning all of us that he wants our change all right, 'loose change', pocket change', social change and political change......So people wake up. For if you don't the change you get may not be the change you were expecting or the change you wanted.
To close my screed, I want to leave you with some JM predictions in the event the junior Senator from Illinois becomes President and especially if the House and Senate are veto proof.
1). Strict new gun laws will be enacted even though he promised he would not.
2). The phrase 'In God We Trust' will be removed from all currency.
3). He will back away from his pledge to Israel and leave them to the wolves of Islam.
4). Hillary Clinton will be named to the Supreme Court.
5). Tax rates will return to their highest levels in 30 years.
6). The capital gains tax will be at least double current levels.
7). Retired Army General Wesley Clark will be named Secretary of Defense.
8). The borders will be 'basically open' to all comers. Especially those from the Middle East and South America ..
9). Amnesty will be granted to all illegals now in the U.S regardless of status or even gang members (MS-13). and
10). The war in Iraq will be brought to an abrupt end and the results will be tragic and the consequences to our military will be devastating.
I realize that my predictions may not sit too well with some people and the best we could all hope for is that I am totally wrong. Any bets?

What is Important?
When a man's ways please the Lord, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him. Better is a little with righteousness than great revenues without right. Proverbs 16:7,8
Just look around you are you at peace with your enemies? If not then you need that peace that passes all understanding, given to you by God! Only He can make your enemies be at peace with you. The only way to get this peace is to "please the Lord"! How do I do that? By recognizing that you have sinned and need redemption. Repent and be saved! Change your ways. Let Jesus into your life.
The second verse tells us that righteousness is more important than riches or belongings. Doing the right thing in your work, and life speaks volumes about your morals and beliefs! If more people started doing the right thing we wouldn't find ourselves in the fix we are now in.
I think that you can apply this to our country as well as ourselves.
At least that is what I think

HUH!!
Last nights VP debate and the previous Presidential debate made me think. Here are some thoughts that you won't hear in the news.
Quote from The Constitution of the United States, Article I The Legislative Branch, Section 8 - Powers of Congress "The Congress shall have Power to lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defense and general Welfare of the United States; but all Duties, Imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States; To borrow money on the credit of the United States; To regulate Commerce with foreign Nations, and among the several States, and with the Indian Tribes;...To make all Laws which shall be necessary and proper for carrying into Execution the forgoing Powers, and all other Powers vested by this Constitution in the Government of the United States, or in any Department of Officer thereof."
#1 If the Constitution is correct, and I think it is, than 3 out of the 4 people running for the top two highest offices in our country were directly responsible for the mess that they keep telling us is "Bush's problem"! They passed the bills spending the money, sending the troops, declared war on Irak, declared war on the Taliban, allowed financial organizations to lend money unwisely, gave wall street the power to "melt down", in general THEY, CONGRESS, PUT US INTO THIS MESS WE FIND OURSELVES IN, and now 3 of them are saying we have a plan!!! Trust me!! I THINK NOT!
Quote from the Constititution of the Unites States: Article. 1, Section 7 Revenue Bills, Legislative Process, Presidential Veto: ...Every bill which shall have passed the House of Representatives and the Senate, shall, before it become a Law, be presented to the President of the United States; If he approve he shall sign it, but if not he shall return it, with his Objections to that House in which it shall have originated, who shall enter the objections at large on their Journal, and proceed to reconsider it. If after such Reconsideration two thirds of that House shall agree to pass the Bill, it shall be sent, together with the Objections, the the other House, by witch it shall likewise e reconsidered, and if approved by two thirds of that House , it shall become a Law. ..."
#2 If President Bush just signs things passed by the Legislative branch, or veto's them, and they pass with a 2/3 majority. He doesn't make the laws, how is it his fault? We need to start putting the blame where it belongs, on the makers and passer's of legislative law, the House of Representatives and the Senate! Lets quite hanging the blame on our figure head the President! His duty is "I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States." According to Article II section 2: "The president shall be Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States, and of the Militia of the several States, ..." That is the duties of the President. If a law comes to his desk that goes against the Constitution his sworn duty is to veto it. As Commander in Chief he is to direct our military in defense of our nation and, if given the power by congress, make war on nations that would do us harm.
Senator Biden misstated something last night in his remarks during the debate. He stated that the vice-president just has the tie-breaker vote in the senate and should do nothing else in the senate. The Constitution states in Article I, Section 3: ... "The Vice President of the United States shall be President of the Senate, but shall have no vote, unless they be equally divided.
The Senate shall chuse their other Officers, and also a president pro tempore, in the absence of the Vice President, or when he shall exercise the office of President of the Unites States."
To me that sounds like the vice President should be very involved in the Senate! I wonder why the Senate doesn't want him there?
IF WE ARE LOOKING FOR CHANGE IN OUR GOVERNMENT WE NEED TO CHANGE THE PEOPLE THAT MAKE AND PASS THE LAWS!

CHANGE
I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. Philippians 4:13
We have heard a lot about change lately. Change in the White House, change in Washington! I think that we will see oil flowing from the new oil wells in the gulf that haven't been drilled yet before we see these changes! Real change comes a lot closer to home. Real change is in things that you and I effect every day of our lives. It comes from our attitude toward life, friends, enemy's, and family. It is in the little things that we do or don't do. Like helping someone we don't know. Showing compassion toward someone that hasn't shown us the same. How about working for change in our own neighborhood. Don't wait on someone else to start change do it yourself!
Like the Bible verse above states YOU can do all things through Christ, why, because He will give you the strength to do it. All that is needed is the will to do it from you!
Don't wait on Washington start change at home!
At least that is what I think
