What is going to happen?

3 Blessed is he that reads, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand. 4 John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace be to you, and peace, from him which is, and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are before his throne; 5 And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. To him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, 6 And has made us kings and priests to God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen. 7 Behold, he comes with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen. 8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, said the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty. Revelations 1:3-8

A lot is said in these 6 verses. First it starts out with a blessing for those that read, hear, and keep the words of this prophecy. For the time is at hand. The time is near for this prophecy to come to pass. When? No one knows but it could come to pass in our lifetime! Paul thought that it would happen in his life time. The exact time is known only by God, it is up to be ready.

John then addresses the letter to the seven churches in Asia The known gatherings of believers in that day. Sends the churches God's grace or God's forgiving mercy. He also states that this forgiving mercy is extended from Jesus Christ "who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. To him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood," Here he describes Jesus several times The first begotten of the dead, the first one to rise from the dead as all believers will do. John also states the fact that Jesus loves us and washed us from our sins in his own blood!

In verse 7 John states that "Behold, he comes with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen." This is referring to Jesus and his second coming when all mankind will see him coming in the clouds as the ruler and judge of all the earth.

Verse 8 sums it all up telling us that Jesus is the Alpha and Omeaga, the beginning and end. The one that is and was and shall be. He is the Almighty One. God.
