IN GOD WE TRUST


California is trying again! An atheist is trying to have "In GOD we trust" removed from US coins and bills. He said "the motto is an unconstitutional endorsement of religion"This same person tried to ban the pledge of Allegiance from the schools!
Congress authorized the reference to God on a two-cent piece in 1864, as stated in a MSNBC article, following a request by the director of the U.S.Mint. The director wrote there should be a "distinct and unequivocal national recognition of the divine sovereignty" on the nations coins.
In 1954 Congress inserted the words "under God" in the pledge of Allegiance, and a year later required all currency to carry the motto "In God We Trust".

As the signers of the Declaration of Independence state in three different areas of this document 1,We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights... 2,...appealing to the Supreme Judge of the world for the rectitude of our intentions,... 3, And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor.
The signers of our Declaration of Independence call on a higher power to guide, support, and protect them in their endeavor to start our nation, how can we 2008 years later endeavor to remove this same guidance and protection from our nation?
If the citizens of the United States of America want this country to remain a strong free nation we need to stand up and be counted, stop the removal of God from our nation, and return to our roots of believing, and trusting in God for guidance, protection, and strength!
At least that is what I think.
