Tax Revolt

Here is a novel idea tax me on the money I spend. We are doing this right now all over the USA in the form of state and local sales tax collected at the point of sale. Get rid of the IRS and April 15th tax day, don't tax my income, tax my spending. No loop-holes, no forms, no refunds, no IRS. Go to www.fairtax.org and look it over and join the tax revolt and walk on Washington today.

Privilege or Responsibility?

VOTING - is it a privilege?
Yes it is , one that few people in the world enjoy.
Counting all of the masses of people in the world, there are a small present of people that have the privilege of voting for their country's leaders. Most have to be satisfied with what fate deals them. They go through life not having the privilege of having a part in choosing their leaders. Most of the time it is the town bully or the relative or friend of the other leaders in power who get the nod of leadership. To the few (in numbers) people that have this privilege it should be something that they hold dear and want to protect it. In fact thousands of men and women have given their all doing just that! The concept of people choosing their leadership was almost unheard of before 1776. It definitely wasn't talked about in public in front of other leaders. But a group of men got together and hammered out a method of country leadership that has stood the test of time and has become the model for several other country's.

Freedom, to worship, to live, to choose your profession, to choose your town leadership, your state leadership, your country's leadership! This is what people have died for. Because of this sacrifice this freedom to vote should take on more than just a privilege it should be a Responsibility. The responsibility to exercise our God given right to choose who will lead our country and make the laws.

By not fulfilling this responsibility we indirectly support all of the other forms of government!!! But the worst part is we undermine the very foundation of government for the people and by the people. That means EVERYONE HAS THE RESPONSIBILITY TO SUPPORT OUR METHOD OF GOVERNMENT. It may not be perfect but it is a lot better than the alternative.

Pray for our country, and for its elected officials.

Huntley Brown On Obama

I wanted to send this article from Huntley Brown (http://www.huntleybrown.com/), a fabulous concert pianist, a man of God and a black man. I appreciate so much his reasoning for not voting for Obama. I would like to see his article published or spread out via Email to as many as possible. It's good stuff!

Why I Can't Vote For Obama

Dear Friends, A few months ago I was asked for my perspective on Obama, I
sent out an email with a few points. With the election just around the
corner I decided to complete my perspective. Those of you on my e-list have seen
some of this before but it's worth repeating...

First I must say whoever wins the election will have my prayer support.
Obama needs to be commended for his accomplishments but I need to explain
why I will not be voting for him.

Many of my friends process their identity through their blackness. I process my identity through Christ. Being a Christian (a Christ follower) means He leads I follow. I can't dictate the terms He does because He is the leader.

I can't vote black because I am black; I have to vote Christian because
that's who I am. Christian first, black second. Neither should anyone
from the other ethnic groups vote because of ethnicity. 200 years from now I won't
be asked if I was black or white. I will be asked if I knew Jesus and
accepted Him as Lord and Savior.

In an election there are many issues to consider but when a society gets; abortion, same-sex marriage, embryonic stem-cell research, human cloning to name a few, wrong economic concerns will soon not matter.

We need to follow Martin Luther King's words, don't judge someone by the
color of their skin but by the content of their character. I don't know Obama so
all I can go off is his voting record. His voting record earned him the
title of the most liberal senator in the US Senate in 2007.

To beat Ted Kennedy and Hillary Clinton as the most liberal senator, takes some doing. Obama accomplished this feat in 2 short years. I wonder what would happen to America if he had four years to work with.

There is a reason Planned Parenthood gives him a 100 % rating. There is a reason the homosexual community supports him. There is a reason Ahmadinejad, Chavez, Castro, Hamas etc. love him. There is a reason he said he would nominate liberal judges to the Supreme Court. There is a reason he voted against the infanticide bill. There is a reason he voted No on the constitutional ban of same-sex marriage. There is a reason he voted No on banning partial birth abortion. There is a reason he voted No on confirming Justices Roberts and Alito. These two judges are conservatives and they have since overturned partial birth abortion. The same practice Obama wanted to continue.

Let's take a look at the practice he wanted to continue

The 5 Step Partial Birth Abortion procedures:

A. Guided by ultrasound, the abortionist grabs the baby's leg with
forceps.
(Remember this is a live baby)
B. The baby's leg is pulled out into the birth canal.
C. The abortionist delivers the baby's entire body, except for the head.
D. The abortionist jams scissors into the baby's skull. The scissors are
then opened to enlarge the hole.
E. The scissors are removed and a suction catheter is inserted. The child's brains are sucked out, causing the skull to collapse. The dead baby is then removed.

God help him. There is a reason Obama opposed the parental notification
law.

Think about this: You can't give a kid an aspirin without parental notification but that same kid can have an abortion without parental notification. This is insane.

There is a reason he went to Jeremiah Wright's church for 20 years.

Obama tells us he has good judgment but he sat under Jeremiah Wright
teaching for 20 years. Now he is condemning Wright's sermons. I wonder
why now?

Obama said Jeremiah Wright led him to the Lord and discipled him. A disciple
is one in training. Jesus told us in Matthew 28:19 - 20 'Go and make
disciples of all nations.' This means reproduce yourself. Teach people to
think like you, walk like you; talk like you believe what you believe etc. The question I have is what did Jeremiah Wright teach him?

Would you support a White President who went to a church which has tenets
that said they have a ...

1. Commitment to the White Community
2. Commitment to the White Family
3. Adherence to the White Work Ethic
4. Pledge to make the fruits of all developing and acquired skills available to the White Community.
5. Pledge to Allocate Regularly, a Portion of Personal Resources for Strengthening and Supporting White Institutions
6. Pledge allegiance to all White leadership who espouse and embrace the White Value System
7. Personal commitment to embracement of the White Value System.

Would you support a President who went to a church like that?

Just change the word from white to black and you have the tenets of Obama's former church. If President Bush was a member of a church like this, he would be called a racist. Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton would have been marching outside.

This kind of church is a racist church. Obama did not wake up after 20years and just discovered he went to a racist church. The church can't be about race. Jesus did not come for any particular race. He came for the whole world.

A church can't have a value system based on race. The churches value system has to be based on biblical mandate. It does not matter if it's a white church or a black church it's still wrong. Anyone from either race that attends a church like this would never get my vote.

Obama's former Pastor Jeremiah Wright is a disciple of liberal theologian James Cone, author of the 1970 book A Black Theology of Liberation. Cone once wrote: 'Black theology refuses to accept a God who is not identified totally with the goals of the black community. If God is not for us and against white people, then he is a murderer, and we had better kill him.

Cone is the man Obama's mentor looks up to. Does Obama believe this?

So what does all this mean for the nation?

In the past when the Lord brought someone with the beliefs of Obama to lead a nation it meant one thing - judgment.

Read 1 Samuel 8 when Israel asked for a king. First God says in 1 Samuel1:9 'Now listen to them; but warn them solemnly and let them know what the king who will reign over them will do.'
Then God says

1 Samuel 1:18 ' When that day comes, you will cry out for relief from the king you have chosen, and the LORD will not answer you in that day.' 19 But the people refused to listen to Samuel. 'No!' they said. 'We want a king over us. 20 Then we will be like all the other nations, with a king to lead us and to go out before us and fight our battles.' 21 When Samuel heard all that the people said, he repeated it before the LORD. 22 The LORD answered, 'Listen to them and give them a king.'

Here is what we know for sure.

God is not schizophrenic

He would not tell one person to vote for Obama and one to vote for McCain.
As the scripture says, a city divided against itself cannot stand, so obviously many people are not hearing from God.

Maybe I am the one not hearing but I know God does not change and Obama
contradicts many things I read in scripture so I doubt it.

For all my friends who are voting for Obama can you really look God in the
face and say; Father based on your word, I am voting for Obama even
though I know he will continue the genocidal practice of partial birth abortion. He might have to nominate three or four Supreme Court justices, and I am sure he will be nominating liberal judges who will be making laws that are against you. I also know he will continue to push for homosexual rights, even though you destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah for this. I know I can look the other way because of the economy.

I could not see Jesus agreeing with many of Obama's positions. Finally I have two questions for all my liberal friends.


Since we know someone's value system has to be placed on the nation,

1. Whose value system should be placed on the nation.

2. Who should determine that this is the right value system for the
nation?

Shopping survey

I just came home from doing some shopping. While I was shopping I conducted a unofficial survey of items in the store. Looking for the country of manufacture. Can you guess which country had the most? Which country had the least?

It baffles me that a country that is so politically misaligned with ours, who's ideology is totally against ours, is allowed to import so many things into this country. The new war will not be with missiles or guns it will be with paper (IOU'S) and money.

If we don't wake up soon our next president may be "Made In China" just like most things for sale in our stores! All they will have to do is call in all of the marker's and debt we have with China and they will own the United States of America dba USC (United States of China) Our name will change over night and so will our freedoms!

How many things that are manufactured in the USA are imported into China? They don't want our manufactured goods, they want our raw materials so they can manufacture goods and ship them back to us for a handsome profit! We need to support American manufacturing, encourage Bob the plummer, and Cory the Well Driller, and all of the other small businesses in America.

At least that is what I think

Economics 101

This was sent to me but it makes sense.

Bar Stool Economics

Suppose that every day, ten men go out for beer and the bill for all ten comes to $100. If they paid their bill the way we pay our taxes, it would go something like this:

The first four men (the poorest) would pay nothing.
The fifth would pay $1.
The sixth would pay $3.
The seventh would pay $7.
The eighth would pay $12.
The ninth would pay $18.
The tenth man (the richest) would pay $59.

So, that's what they decided to do.

The ten men drank in the bar every day and seemed quite happy with the arrangement, until one day, the owner threw them a curve. "Since you are all such good customers," he said, "I'm going to reduce the cost of your daily beer by $20." The bill for the ten men now cost them just $80.

The men still wanted to pay their bill the way we pay our taxes, so the first four men were unaffected. They would still drink for free. What about the other six men, though, the paying customers? How could they divide the $20 windfall so that everyone would get his fair share"

They realized that $20 divided by six is $3.33, but if they subtracted that from everybody's share, then the fifth man and the sixth man would each end up being paid to drink their beer. So, the bar owner suggested that it would be fair to reduce each man's bill by roughly the same amount. So, he proceeded to work out the amounts each should pay.

The fifth man, like the first four, now paid nothing (100% savings).
The sixth now paid $2 instead of $3 (33% savings).
The seventh now paid $5 instead of $7 (28% savings).
The eighth now paid $9 instead of $12 (25% savings).
The ninth now paid $14 instead of $18 (22% savings).
The tenth man now paid $49 instead of $59 (16% savings).

Each of the six men was better off than before, and the first four continued to drink for free. Once outside the bar, though, the men began to compare their savings.

"I only got a dollar out of the $20," declared the sixth man. He pointed to the tenth man and said, "He got $10."

"Yeah, that's right," exclaimed the fifth man. "I only saved a dollar, too. It's unfair that he got ten times more than I did!"

"That's true!" shouted the seventh man. "Why should he get $10 back when I only got two? The wealthy get all the breaks!"

"Wait a minute," yelled the first four men in unison. "We didn't get anything at all. The system exploits the poor!"

The nine men surrounded the tenth man and beat him up. The next night the tenth man didn't show up, so the nine sat down and had their beers without him. When it came time to pay the bill, though, they discovered something important. They didn't have enough money between them for even half the bill.

And that, boys and girls, is how our tax system works. The people who pay the highest taxes get the most benefit from a tax reduction. Tax them too much, or attack them for being wealthy, and they may not show up anymore. In fact, they might start drinking their beer overseas, where the atmosphere is somewhat friendlier.

For those who understand, no explanation is necessary.
For those who don't understand, no explanation is possible.

THE RIGHT "PRICE"

When consumers focus on only one thing "price" they allow everything else to fall apart!
VOLUME:Look at the size of food packages. They are all getting smaller, but the price is remaining the same! Soon we will pay the same price for a product and get just the package!
QUALITY: Look at furniture and appliances, we purchase mass-produced inexpensive furniture or appliances for our houses, but they are made to last only a few years at best. Then we have to purchase new to replace the old worn out things. Things go out of production and are not supported by service departments past 10 years! I think that is called planed obsolescences. If you try to get parts for an appliance that is 15 years old good luck. Toys are the same, not made to last any where but the dump and then the plastic toys last forever.

When are we going to wake up and start demanding value for our dollar. Sure we need to look at cost but it has more sides than just $.

Gluttony

Hast thou found honey? eat so much as is sufficient for thee, lest thou be filled therewith, and vomit it. Proverbs 25:16

Gluttony! Too much of a good thing. How many of us have been down that road?

That saying also applies to gifts. Giving someone that is in need money to fill their need shows compassion on your part but isn't necessarily their true need.

A wise person once said "Give a man food and he will feed his family today, teach him how to fish and he will feed his family forever."

This still applies today. The American people don't need handouts in the form of money, although we will take them, that isn't the solution!
WE NEED JOBS! That is the long term solution to our problem. We need manufacturers to expand, build new plants, hire new people, make new products, here in the USA! We need to attract and encourage new manufacturing company's into America.
Give them money and they will provide the jobs we need to feed our family's and get the American dream moving again!
Give us the money and we will spend it, but it will not have the impact on the economy needed to get it moving.
Where did all the jobs go? Over sea's! Why? Money! A person starts a company to make money. He hires employees, even when that act cost them money, to help them make more money!
When the country in which the business is located in doesn't protect that company's profit margin and allows imports to come into the country and sell for a cheaper price than they can produce the product, or increases the tax on their production so much it becomes financially imposable to make a profit. That company has two choices. go bankrupt , or leave the country and relocate somewhere else where they can make a profit. After all they are in business to make money. The by product of that is jobs for the area the company is located in.
If the USA would reduce tax on company's, increase tariffs on the competing imports, jobs and companys would increase!

Why is it that even after the lead paint scare, it is very difficult to find a child's toy NOT made in China? Can't we make toys in the USA? Of course we can and we can make better, and safer ones than we import! But we can't make a profit due to cost differences. The Government refuses to protect our jobs with a tariff, and we, the people of the USA, don't want to pay a little more for products made in the USA. So our jobs move out and we find ourselves in the mess we are in. If you don't believe me look at where anything is made that we eat, or use or live with. We import lumber from Sweden! The vast majority of things are imported! Ask yourselves why don't we have jobs?

Gluttony, too much of a good thing, cheap, inexpensive products for a throw away society, leads to destruction and failure of that same society.

FAVORS!

He that is surety for a stranger shall smart for it: and he that hateth suretiship is sure. Proverbs 11:15

It looks like true to the American way, we Americans are being swayed by the rich again. It looks like we will get the biggest spender in in the White house. During thees financially troubled times is that a realistic approach to filling the office of the President of the United States? Should the person whose organization has raised and spent the most money win? Does that qualify them for the White House? Or does that mean they have the most to pay back!! How many strings are attached to this puppet we are sending to the White House?

How many people are swayed by the constant stream of poles taken showing this one is out in front by 6 points and now this one is out by 8 points! The only time poles mean anything is when you are at the polling place voting for your candidate!

Another way of stating what the verse says is "nether a lender nor a bowered be". Don't owe money or favors to another or lend them money or favors. If you do you are setting yourself up for failure!

You will not be able to do what is right, do to the influence of the person or persons to whom you owe money or favors. Or your thoughts or ideas will have undo influence on another.

Come to think of it that could be the underlying reason for loaning or giving someone money or things!

At least that is what I think

This is an e-mail from B.Gen James Cash, USAF, who has written some very good articles on the subject. Here he recommends someone else's e-mail that impressed him, and scared him.

The election of Obama as President of the United States will mark the apex, and beginning downslide of this Republic. The only question is the rate at which the downfall will occur.

The writer of this essay is Jerry Molen. Jerry is a great friend and an Academy Award winning Hollywood Producer. He did Jurassic Park , Hook, Rainman, and many more class movies. He won he Academy Award for Schindler's List. Jerry is one of the very few clear thinking conservatives that I know from Hollywood . We need to get this out to as many as possible to include liberal Democrats.. We are about to make the Mother-of-All-Mistakes, because the Republican Party gave us no reliable alternative. In my opinion, if the conservative movement does not rally behind the only alternative left to us, this country will become a true Socialist State within the next two Presidential terms. Ladies and Gentlemen, this is the most grave situation this nation has faced in my lifetime.

We just experienced an overhyped, positively outrageous primary election season that has left me cold and wondering where the heads of our citizens are hiding out. Must be someplace where the sun doesn't get to very often.

At one time in my life I was a determined, dedicated and ever loyal registered Democrat. Then something happened (Lyndon Baines Johnson) that turned my life around and gave me much pause as to the veracity of a party that dwelt on and fed off of the most unfortunate among us. Some of those unfortunates were in their positions in life by way of their own choosing and others were there by circumstance But always, always with a door open to them to reach for new heights, achieve new goals, change their lives for the better. every need. They are still waiting and expecting all those promised freebies.

Most people aren't even aware that the Democrats ruled Washington for over 40 years. It wasn't until 1994 when the so called Gingrich Revolution changed that for a short period of time. Nor do people realize that it was the Dem's that created the failed policies of the many entitlement programs that are falling apart right before our eyes. Please do not think I find the Republicans blameless in all this. They too, suffer from ego inflation and greed motivators built into the system. It's just that the past few months I've listened to the rantings and railings of the left in America calling for more giveaways and better ways to obtain the proverbial 'free lunch'.

I think that to sum up my feelings and why I am so set apart from those within the circles of political power and influence can be illustrated best by a quote by noted basketball legend and talk show co-host Charles Barkley:

'Poor people have been voting for Democrats for the last fifty years...and they are still poor'.

And now with the election results comes the promises of 'change'. 'Change we can believe in.' 'Change for the future'. When in fact if you really, I mean REALLY listen to what the new MESSIAH is asking for is not 'change of policy' or 'change for the better'. He is warning all of us that he wants our change all right, 'loose change', pocket change', social change and political change......So people wake up. For if you don't the change you get may not be the change you were expecting or the change you wanted.

To close my screed, I want to leave you with some JM predictions in the event the junior Senator from Illinois becomes President and especially if the House and Senate are veto proof.

1). Strict new gun laws will be enacted even though he promised he would not.
2). The phrase 'In God We Trust' will be removed from all currency.
3). He will back away from his pledge to Israel and leave them to the wolves of Islam.
4). Hillary Clinton will be named to the Supreme Court.
5). Tax rates will return to their highest levels in 30 years.
6). The capital gains tax will be at least double current levels.
7). Retired Army General Wesley Clark will be named Secretary of Defense.
8). The borders will be 'basically open' to all comers. Especially those from the Middle East and South America ..
9). Amnesty will be granted to all illegals now in the U.S regardless of status or even gang members (MS-13). and
10). The war in Iraq will be brought to an abrupt end and the results will be tragic and the consequences to our military will be devastating.

I realize that my predictions may not sit too well with some people and the best we could all hope for is that I am totally wrong. Any bets?

HUH!!

Last nights VP debate and the previous Presidential debate made me think. Here are some thoughts that you won't hear in the news.

Quote from The Constitution of the United States, Article I The Legislative Branch, Section 8 - Powers of Congress "The Congress shall have Power to lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defense and general Welfare of the United States; but all Duties, Imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States;To borrow money on the credit of the United States; To regulate Commerce with foreign Nations, and among the several States, and with the Indian Tribes;...To make all Laws which shall be necessary and proper for carrying into Execution the forgoing Powers, and all other Powers vested by this Constitution in the Government of the United States, or in any Department of Officer thereof."

#1 If the Constitution is correct, and I think it is, than 3 out of the 4 people running for the top two highest offices in our country were directly responsible for the mess that they keep telling us is "Bush's problem"! They passed the bills spending the money, sending the troops, declared war on Irak, declared war on the Taliban, allowed financial organizations to lend money unwisely, gave wall street the power to "melt down", in general THEY, CONGRESS, PUT US INTO THIS MESS WE FIND OURSELVES IN, and now 3 of them are saying we have a plan!!! Trust me!! I THINK NOT!

Quote from the Constititution of the Unites States: Article. 1, Section 7 Revenue Bills, Legislative Process, Presidential Veto: ...Every bill which shall have passed the House of Representatives and the Senate, shall, before it become a Law, be presented to the President of the United States; If he approve he shall sign it, but if not he shall return it, with his Objections to that House in which it shall have originated, who shall enter the objections at large on their Journal, and proceed to reconsider it. If after such Reconsideration two thirds of that House shall agree to pass the Bill, it shall be sent, together with the Objections, the the other House, by witch it shall likewise e reconsidered, and if approved by two thirds of that House , it shall become a Law. ..."

#2 If President Bush just signs things passed by the Legislative branch, or veto's them, and they pass with a 2/3 majority. He doesn't make the laws, how is it his fault? We need to start putting the blame where it belongs, on the makers and passer's of legislative law, the House of Representatives and the Senate! Lets quite hanging the blame on our figure head the President! His duty is "I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States." According to Article II section 2: "The president shall be Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States, and of the Militia of the several States, ..." That is the duties of the President. If a law comes to his desk that goes against the Constitution his sworn duty is to veto it. As Commander in Chief he is to direct our military in defense of our nation and, if given the power by congress, make war on nations that would do us harm.

Senator Biden misstated something last night in his remarks during the debate. He stated that the vice-president just has the tie-breaker vote in the senate and should do nothing else in the senate. The Constitution states in Article I, Section 3: ... "The Vice President of the United States shall be President of the Senate, but shall have no vote, unless they be equally divided.
The Senate shall chuse their other Officers, and also a president pro tempore, in the absence of the Vice President, or when he shall exercise the office of President of the Unites States."

To me that sounds like the vice President should be very involved in the Senate! I wonder why the Senate doesn't want him there?

IF WE ARE LOOKING FOR CHANGE IN OUR GOVERNMENT WE NEED TO CHANGE THE PEOPLE THAT MAKE AND PASS THE LAWS!

WORK?

It would be nice if I could publicly try for a new job, not have to show up and work at my old job, and if I don't get the new job, go back to work at my old one welcomed with open arms! I could do this as many times as I wanted, time after time, no repercussions!! That would be great. YOU CAN DO THIS! Just work for the elected government! At a time when Washington was setting records of non-accomplishment, several of our elected officials decided to change jobs and pursue a higher public job. So forgoing their public job and setting all things aside they set-out on their course towards higher glory, all in the name of public servitude. All of these public servants continue telling us that they were working for our good. Continuing to tell us to trust them with our future, they have a plan to improve our (their) state of life.

I think that the truth be known, if they all had stayed at work, with their nose to the grindstone, trying to find real solutions to the major public problems: energy, health services & care, border security, jobs, tax relief, the list is endless, we would have been better served!

HOW MUCH HAS YOUR ELECTED OFFICIALS REALLY DONE FOR YOU THE PAST 4 YEARS. ARE YOU SATISFIED? IF NOT WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO ABOUT IT?

Who does Boots work for?

On 1/10/08 State Senator Phil Boots Released a news statement" Boots supports tough illegal immigration measures. Bill punishes those that profit from harboring, transporting or employing below-market cost labor" State senate Bill 335. Not a month later 1/28/08 he votes against and helps defeat that same bill! Who does Boots work for? That bill would have created jobs just by making it Illegal to employ unauthorized aliens in the county. It would punish the perpetrators of illegal employment, and dry up the market for it. This in it's self would be a huge step in stemming the flow of illegals into our country. But no Phil Boots voted against it. If he isn't working for us maybe we need to get someone who is!!

I must retract some of my above statement. Senator Phil Boots voted against an amendment to the bill not the bill. He in fact is still for the bill. I apologize to the Senator and to you!
At least that is what I think.

The Great Debate

It sure would be nice if all of the presidential candidates would have a debate or better yet a discussion about solutions to OUR problems. Just let the media broadcast the discussion, no questions, no moderator, no canned format and venue. Just open discussion about how each candidate would fix / solve the nations domestic problems. No foreign policy only domestic. How would they get the Legislative branch of our government focused on domestic solutions and getting the two parties working together for their boss (the people of America). Do you think that the candidates could discuss the pros / cons of their ideas and come up with solution proposals, or would their real selves come out and get in the way and it become a mud slinging contest like it is now. Do we really care what happened years ago or do we want to know the truth about how they will solve todays problems.

IN GOD WE TRUST


California is trying again! An atheist is trying to have "In GOD we trust" removed from US coins and bills. He said "the motto is an unconstitutional endorsement of religion"This same person tried to ban the pledge of Allegiance from the schools!
Congress authorized the reference to God on a two-cent piece in 1864, as stated in a MSNBC article, following a request by the director of the U.S.Mint. The director wrote there should be a "distinct and unequivocal national recognition of the divine sovereignty" on the nations coins.
In 1954 Congress inserted the words "under God" in the pledge of Allegiance, and a year later required all currency to carry the motto "In God We Trust".

As the signers of the Declaration of Independence state in three different areas of this document 1,We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights... 2,...appealing to the Supreme Judge of the world for the rectitude of our intentions,... 3, And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor.
The signers of our Declaration of Independence call on a higher power to guide, support, and protect them in their endeavor to start our nation, how can we 2008 years later endeavor to remove this same guidance and protection from our nation?
If the citizens of the United States of America want this country to remain a strong free nation we need to stand up and be counted, stop the removal of God from our nation, and return to our roots of believing, and trusting in God for guidance, protection, and strength!
At least that is what I think.

The person that said "The only way that evil will prevail is for good people to stand back!", is so true. The good people in America have been standing back for too long. We have almost given away the boat! If we don't start doing something soon it could be too late. We have elected officials that have been elected to look out for our best interests. The problem is they are looking out for their interests long before they look out for our interest. We elect them, they work (am I not correct) for us they, need to start doing just that. I wish I could pass a law giving me a raise, or setting up my retirement and medical system, totally separate and distinct from the average voter. The good people of America have stood by and let our elected officials get by with this. They find a great bill and add their own pork barrel projects for this friend or another to it. Before you know it in order to have the beneficial bill pass we have to spend billions more on junk for special interest groups! We need the line item veto passed but if you are waiting for your congressman to vote for it you will wait for a long time. How about something new just make every bill stand alone on its own merits! Have you tuned in to watch your congress at work? No wonder we don't get any thing done, nobody is at work! Your congressmen are too busy making money for themselves or going on vacation to Europe on a fact finding mission paid for by our hard earned money! They can't be bothered doing their job and working on solutions for American problems.
So if when you look around and don't like what you see, just how vocal have you been about the problems. Or have you just sat by and let things go!
At least that is what I think.

Here is something that was sent to me. It speaks volumes! When are we (the American people) going to wake up?

Politicians are the only people in the world who create problems and then campaign against them.
Have you ever wondered why, if both the Democrats and the Republicans are against deficits, we have deficits?
Have you ever wondered why, if all the politicians are against inflation and high taxes, we have inflation and high taxes?
You and I don't propose a federal budget. The president does.
You and I don't have the Constitutional authority to vote on appropriations. The House of Representatives does.
You and I don't write the tax code, Congress does.
You and I don't set fiscal policy, Congress does.
You and I don't control monetary policy, The Federal Reserve Bank does.
One hundred senators, 435 congressmen, one president and nine Supreme Court justices - 545 human beings out of the 300 million - are directly, legally, morally and individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague this country.
I excluded the members of the Federal Reserve Board because that problem was created by the Congress.
In 1913, Congress delegated its Constitutional duty to provide a sound currency to a federally chartered but private central bank.
I excluded all the special interests and lobbyists for a sound reason. They have no legal authority.
They have no ability to coerce a senator, a congressman or a president to do one cotton-picking thing.
I don't care if they offer a politician $1 million dollars in cash. The politician has the power to accept or reject it. No matter what the lobbyist promises, it is the legislator's responsibility to determine how he votes.
Those 545 human beings spend much of their energy convincing you that what they did is not their fault. They cooperate in this common con regardless of party.
What separates a politician from a normal human being is an excessive amount of gall.
No normal human being would have the gall of a Speaker, who stood up and criticized the President for creating deficits.
The president can only propose a budget.
He cannot force the Congress to accept it.
The Constitution, which is the supreme law of the land, gives sole responsibility to the House of Representatives for originating and approving appropriations and taxes.
Who is the speaker of the House?
She is the leader of the majority party.
She and fellow House members, not the president, can approve any budget they want.
If the president vetoes it, they can pass it over his veto if they agree to.
It seems inconceivable to me that a nation of 300 million can not replace 545 people who stand convicted -- by present facts - of incompetence and irresponsibility.
I can't think of a single domestic problem that is not traceable directly to those 545 people.
When you fully grasp the plain truth that 545 people exercise the power of the federal government, then it must follow that what exists is what they want to exist.
If the tax code is unfair, it's because they want it unfair.
If the budget is in the red, it's because they want it in the red.
If the Marines are in IRAQ , it's because they want them in IRAQ .
If they do not receive social security but are on an elite retirement plan not available to the people, it's because they want it that way.
There are no insoluble government problems.
Do not let these 545 people shift the blame to bureaucrats, whom they hire and whose jobs they can abolish; to lobbyists, whose gifts and advice they can reject; to regulators, to whom they give the power to regulate and from whom they can take this power.
Above all, do not let them con you into the belief that there exists disembodied mystical forces like 'the economy,' 'inflation' or 'politics' that prevent them from doing what they take an oath to do.
Those 545 people, and they alone, are responsible.
They, and they alone, have the power.
They, and they alone, should be held accountable by the people who are their bosses - provided the voters have the gumption to manage their own employees.
We should vote all of them out of office and clean up their mess!

First page

If ever there was a time that the people of the United States of America need to unite and create change it is now. With gas prices in the sky, driving all other costs up and wages in the cellar, it is time for change. We need a complete change in our government, not just in the white house but in all of Washington. it is time for our elected officials to start representing the American people not themselves or their special interest groups. I for one am tired of the vocal minority telling the majority what and how to do and live. We all need to unite and stand up and get representation in Washington. I think that means that we need to clean house this election!!!
